2025 Class 7A Coaching Changes
2025 Head Football Coaching Changes | |
Region 2 Smiths Station - Bryant Garrison leaves Smith Station as so many other head coaches there without finding much success. His two teams finished a combined 1-19. The Panthers will once again be in search of the coach to lead the program in one of the most difficult regions in the state. The new hire will be the ninth head football coach at the school since 2000. 2025 Season - Vacant Carver Montgomery - Bobby Carr leaves Carver after just one season where his Wolverines saw a great start to the 2024 football season wind down to missing the playoffs. His 6-3 record is still commendable playing in a very tough region in 7A. Carver will be in search of their sixth head coach in the past ten seasons. 2025 Season - Vacant Region 3 Prattville - Jason Wallace and the Prattville Lions parted ways following the 2024 football season. In four years leading the Lions, Wallace compiled a record of 21-20 but it was not enough to secure his position with the program. His overall record with stops at Florence and Marbury stands at 54-54 in ten seasons. Long gone are the days of Bill Clark and Jamey DuBose for the Lions as they continue to search for that one head coach who can rebuild the once mighty program. 2025 Season - Bobby Carr arrives in Prattville in hopes of turning around the football program of the once mighty Lions. He will be the fourth head coach since 2011 when Jamey DuBose lead the Lions to their last state championship. Since then they have only gotten past the second round twice and did not qualify for the playoffs the past three seasons. The task will be difficult as the Lions play in region 3 of the highest classification in what is arguably the toughest region in any classification. Tuscaloosa County - Miles Holcomb was unable to parlay the success he found at Southside Gadsden into a winning formula at Tuscaloosa County. The Wildcats finished the 2024 football season with a 1-9 record and he stepped down following the season to return to the Gadsden area at Southside as an assistant coach. 2025 Season - Brian Niedermeyer served as defensive coordinator last season at Tuscaloosa County. Niedermeyer has previous coaching experience at the college level, most notably serving as a tight ends and linebackers coach on coach Jeremy Pruitt's staff at the University of Tennessee. He was an assistant coach St. Thomas Aquinas High School Florida, before serving as defensive coordinator at IMG Academy for two years. Region 4 James Clemens - Chad McGehee retired from the sidelines after 26 seasons as a football coach. His four seasons at James Clemens produced a 27-16 record with three playoff spots. McGehee also served as the head coach at Elkmont for two seasons between 2006-2006. His overall record as a head coach is 36-27. 2025 Season - Vacant |
